999 Silver Braided Viking Oath Ring

The 'Oath Arm Ring' was hand forged, sand-casted and rolled out into individual rods of pure 999 Silver and braided over a long beating and annealing process. 

This piece was inspired by Scandinavian Vikings who used to wear arm rings such as ours to symbolise oaths between lords and warriors or even as promises of fidelity to a lover. We shaped the 'Head' into a snake, and the end into a tail to symbolise a popular serpent symbol across ancient cultures, the ouroboros. 

One of the coolest features about these arm rings was that they also served an important role as a form of wearable wealth, named Hack Silver. Vikings would cut bits of silver off their Arm Ring to use as currency.

999 Silver care:

999 fine silver is 99.9% pure — softer than sterling, and richer for it. Avoid harsh chemicals, perfumes, and prolonged exposure to moisture. Store dry, polish gently, and it will age beautifully.
