Raw Sapphire Arena Ring
Description
Each Arena Ring is cast once, and once only. Raw Australian sapphires — sourced from the gemfields of North Queensland — are pressed directly into the sand mould before the pour, so every stone sets differently. The result is a ring that has never existed before and will never exist again.
The sapphires are intentionally left rough. Uncut, unpolished, exactly as the earth made them. Set against the signature beach sand texture of the Arena — that same Stradbroke Island grit pressed into 999 fine silver — the contrast is the point. Ancient stone meeting ancient process.
Due to the organic nature of sandcasting and the irregular form of each rough sapphire, no two Arena Rings will ever be identical. Stone placement, depth, orientation, and surface character will vary with every cast. This is not inconsistency — it is the nature of the work.
Caring for your Arena Ring
999 fine silver is purer than sterling and carries a softness that reflects that purity. Polish gently with a soft cloth to restore its lustre. Wear it, but wear it with awareness — this is a handmade object, not a production piece.
