The Tulip Pendant
Description
Before the metal, there was wax.
Each Tulip Pendant begins as a drawing — tulips drawn by hand in beeswax, pressed into Stradbroke Island sand, and held there while molten silver or solid gold fills every line. What the wax drew, the metal remembers. What the sand left behind, no tool could replicate.
The tulip has adorned jewellery for thousands of years. Worn by Ottoman emperors, carried across trade routes, pressed into gold by hands long gone. We're not the first to find something worth keeping in that shape. We won't be the last.
After the pour, the mould is destroyed. The wax is gone. What remains is yours alone — sand texture, petal form, and the particular weight of something made entirely by hand.
